University Gölhisar Health Services Vocational School First and Emergency Aid Program “Hands Reaching for Life Community” organized an event titled “Learn, Apply
and Do Not Be Helpless” by the community academic advisor
Lecturer Fulya Sağ Kara and community member students. The event was held between November 10-14
at Gölhisar Square, Gölhisar Youth Center, Gölhisar KYK and
Gölhisar Health Services Vocational School. According to World
Health Organization data, cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death worldwide. Measures taken and first aid practices performed in the first
minutes of emergencies are very important for the patient's survival. Especially in cases of respiratory and/or
cardiac arrest, the patient may not have enough time to wait for professional emergency aid teams
to arrive. Life-threatening events such as heart attacks, drownings,
electric shocks, strokes, and poisonings can occur at any moment and place, leading to serious consequences. In such
cases, it is necessary to intervene with the patient within a short period. To evaluate the patient's condition and make the initial
assessment, open the airways in unconscious patients,
perform artificial respiration in patients without breathing, and perform cardiac massage,
citizens were informed and practiced on a mannequin.
